Dwindling twilight peering through
Shadows drape the streets.
High upon an edge, dangling shoes
The stippled world
Undergrowth teems with hymns
Plume towards this steel canopy.
Lush harmonies beneath my limbs
Her silent melody!
Her muted song lulls the bones
Whispers inside wary depths
Her rings from distant telephones
Ticking clocks that count your breaths
Till final breath leaves the body cold to rot
And so this malaise your morning keeps
Will fade within the miles you’ve yet to tread
