I response to a recent ask, here are all of my pencil layers from my most recent illustration of Ryugu Jo.
As you can see, most have been cleaned up around the edges and all have had a simple levels adjustment. If you look closely at the main seaweed layer, you can see that there is quite a bit of smudging and other tidbits that were eventually erased out. I do this to maintain clarity when stacking the layers digitally.
I’ll be posting a full explanation of my process soon. Should I continue with this one, or do you guys have another illustration you’d like to see explained?
Blurring to create depth? freakin genius. Why have I never thought of this??
